KEC Admission and Certification Process: Step by Step

If you are planning to join a Kerala Education Council teacher training programme, it helps to know the whole process before you begin. Here is the step-by-step route from choosing a course to receiving a verifiable certificate.

Step 1: Choose your programme

Decide whether Montessori, nursery or pre-primary training matches your career goal and the age group you want to teach. If you are unsure, call the office and describe your background; the staff will advise which level is appropriate.

Step 2: Register online

Complete the online registration form with your name, contact details, qualification and the course you wish to join. Keep the reference number you receive.

Step 3: Submit documents

• A recent passport-size photograph.
• Proof of identity and address.
• Your highest qualification certificate.
• Any previous teaching or training certificates, if applicable.

Step 4: Pay the fee

Fees can be paid according to the schedule provided at registration. Always obtain a receipt and keep it with your documents.

Step 5: Attend the training

Regular batches run on weekdays; holiday and correspondence batches are available for working teachers. Complete the theory modules, practical sessions and assignments set by your faculty.

Step 6: Assessment

Assessment includes written work and practical demonstration. The requirements are explained at the start of the course, so you can prepare throughout rather than at the end.

Step 7: Certificate and verification

On successful completion you receive your certificate. Keep a digital copy. Schools can verify the certificate through the council’s office, which protects both the teacher and the employer.
