POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN INTERNATIONAL MONTESSORI TEACHER TRAINING

The Post Graduate Diploma in International Montessori Teacher Training Course presented by Kerala Education Council is not just a teaching program, but designed to fulfill the complete requirements of the ambitious and experienced teaching experts. Montessori education addresses the whole child: his physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth. As well as helping each child become an independent learner, the teacher helps turn his attention outward, fostering community, collaboration, and respect for the dignity of others.

 ELIGIBILITY

Candidates fulfilling the following requirements will be considered eligible for admission to the course. The candidates should have:

  • Completed 18 years
  • Possess any Degree
  • Proficiency in English

SYLLABUS

PART I – THEORY (The written theory examination will consist of seven papers.)

Paper I- Montessori Philosophy and Methodology.

Paper II- Child Psychology and Child Development.

Paper III- School Administration and Educational Technology. 

Paper IV- Nutrition and Yoga. 

Paper V – General English & General knowledge.

Paper VI- Principles of Education.

Paper VII- Montessori Apparatus and Exercises. 

 

PART II- PRACTICAL – The practical examination will consist:

I.  Montessori Apparatus Training.

  1. Exercises of Practical Life

  2. Exercises of Sensorial

  3. Exercises of Language

  4. Exercises of Mathematics

 5. Exercises of Geography, Botany, Zoology, and History.

II. Teaching practice and Lesson Plan Records.

III. Teaching Aids, Art & Craft.

IV. Albums, Library works and Assignment.

V. Viva voce, Co-Curricular Activities & Social work.

The practical examination will consist of the demonstration of the use of the apparatus after which students will have to answer questions relating to the apparatus. 

The students’ eligibility for the examination will depend on the following  

  • Minimum 80% attendance.
  • Punctual submission of work.
  • Satisfactory performance in the periodic test during the course.
  • Full payment of the course fee. 

AWARD OF THE DIPLOMA

Kerala Education Council awards The Post Graduate Diploma in International Montessori Teachers Training. It qualifies the holder to work with children in a Montessori environment between 3 and 6 + years of age. It is a great asset to those who wish to open their own schools. This is also certified that the Diploma holder is eligible to  impart education based on Montessori principles and practice of children 3 to 6+ years of age.

JOB PLACEMENT

We get many enquiries for teachers from schools every year. We bring these career opportunities to the attention of our students before the end of the course. Many of our alumni are in good teaching positions in schools all over India and abroad. The demand for Montessori trained teachers is large and even ordinary schools prefer to take Montessori qualified teachers for their pre-school division. Kerala Education council has a placement cell, which assists students in finding suitable employment around the globe. Interested candidates may register their name for placements in India and abroad.

Many our former students are now either teaching in local Montessori Schools or have set up successful Montessori schools of their own and so many teachers are now working in various parts of the world. Other former students have found positions as teachers in the kindergarten, nursery departments of several independent preparatory schools.
